Because business isn’t just about what you know, it’s about who you know.
Ron Levi of Global Pest Control
If you’re in the management industry (and many others) you know that a hysterical call from a tenant that has seen a rat IS NOT going to make your day. In the wonderful world of pest control encompassing various pests and wildlife like bedbugs, roaches, and mice, those tough city rats still stand out as Public Enemy #1.
That’s where Global Pest Control comes in. In business since 1997, GPC services thousands of multi-family buildings in the tri-state area, GPC has got what it takes, to find those rats and get rid of them too.
Ron Levi has been with GPC for 15 years, and if there’s one thing he knows, it’s pests. He didn’t start that way though. He started out, working in the mail order sales department of a photo-electronics store, but Ron explains that sales are sales, whether it’s pest control services or cameras, the principles of sales and deal-making are basically the same. “It’s about understanding what the customer needs, and how you can solve their problem. So, learn how to be an excellent listener; The customer does not want to hear you talk- they want to do the talking.”
Real estate and management within NYC have gotten more complicated by the year. “The city has passed many laws hostile and costly to real estate and tighter budgets are making it harder for management.” Pest control is mandated by law and owners must comply with it. But budget concerns make it harder for management to offer extras- say, a new refrigerator for a tenant, etc.
How does GPC manage a roster of more than 3,000 clients? “We really believe in customer service, and that people, need those calls answered ASAP. We put a lot of effort into making sure that happens. You must be on top of the customer service game to succeed in business today!”
