Because business isn’t just about what you know, it’s about who you know.
Baruch Weiner of Capital Property Inspection
If you imagine that inspections are all about checking foundations, roofs, and pipes, you’d be wrong. According to Baruch Weiner, most of the business is about softer skills. A lot of his business is dealing with edgy home buyers who are about to make one of the biggest commitments, and who are often very nervous. Home prices are high in Monsey and the surrounding area Capital Property Inspections serves- and inspection is the last step before the contract. So an inspector needs to be an expert and calm presence- something which Mr. Weiner’s loyal customers can definitely attest to.
Capital Property Inspection serves local residential clients in the Monsey vicinity. They also serve commercial clients and travel across the US to serve their needs. Additionally, they inspect large properties like malls and warehouses.
Baruch got into the business on the advice of his father, who was in real estate and who felt there was a need for heimish inspectors. A relative wanted to train for a home inspector’s license and Boruch decided to keep him company and do it too. Ironically, Baruch’s relative never ended up finishing- but Baruch did and opened Capital Property Inspection in 2017. He developed a loyal following of clients who only wanted him to personally do their inspections- but as things got busy he hired a team. “ A small number of clients weren’t happy and left- but bringing on more inspectors enabled me to grow my business tremendously!”
Baruch reflects that growing a business takes a lot of time and commitment. He advises people starting out to have patience and keep trying- “ If your first idea doesn’t work- try a second one. And then a third. Every successful business you see took a lot of time and effort. Don’t give up!”
