Because business isn’t just about what you know, it’s about who you know.

Jay Fischel of Classic Windows N Doors

CEO Jay Fischel’s been in the window business for a long time. Along with his extensive experience, he has another distinction; he’s the largest importer of European windows and doors in the tri-state area. His first window project back in 1996 was a hospital being converted into a school. Jay came from a background in construction, and the school approached him for a donation. He gave them something better, a great introductory price on replacing all the windows since it was his first windows job! Through his connections in the construction industry, he was able to get excellent subcontractors to install the windows and the job came out great. That was his first foray into the world of windows- and along with his team, he’s been doing it ever since.

Jay’s commitment and care for his customers is well known, and he feels this attitude has gained him happy customers that come back and recommend others. “ It’s a mistake to only consider the profits, I’d much rather take a loss on a job if I have to and make the customer happy.”

Classic Window’s European-made windows are pricier than domestically produced ones. So why go European? It’s simple- his European windows are a superior product. There’s no air leaking because the glass is much stronger and thicker. “ We never get asked for a service call on these,” he says “It’s well worth the investment.” Besides being beautiful and durable, Jay’s windows are also very energy efficient. There are many government programs in place these days encouraging the use of energy-efficient windows and he enjoys helping schools and yeshivas access these programs. Jay takes particular joy in helping schools and other non- profits redo their windows- and then make back the investment in the savings on their utilities. One school paid $36,000 for new windows and then saved $14,000 on their utilities within a year!
