Josh Klein can be pretty persuasive- which is a good thing when your business is in a relatively new industry. KWEV is a manufacturer of electrical charging devices for multi-family and commercial buildings. And if you think you’d never install that on YOUR property, think again. “The idea of charging their car can sound weird to people. But you charge your phone don’t you?” he points out. “EVs are definitely here to stay.” More and more laws are being passed encouraging their use, and the infrastructure is being installed to support them. That’s where Josh and co saw an opportunity – and made a great success of it too!
Josh started in the electrical efficiency sector. So how did he and his team wander off into the brave new world of EV? The Covid pandemic was the impetus for the segue, and he and his company haven’t looked back since. “We were limited in our other projects during Covid because of all the rules and restrictions, so we had the extra time to research this and realized it was GOING TO BE BIG!”
Research led them to create a product they hold the license to, as well as provide the consulting service that goes along with the territory. There are also energy incentives to take advantage of, and that’s also something his clients often need help with too.

We’re already up to chargers that can take just 15 minutes to charge a car for a 400-mile drive. That’s not all that much longer that it takes you to fill up on gas.” According to Josh, it’s only going to get faster and more efficient.
