Yossi Nigri, representing Lucida surfaces has a whole lot to say. Especially about sales. And flooring. And customer service. He serves as the Regional Sales Manager at Lucida Surfaces, founded 12 years ago by Eli Steinmetz and Moshe Halpern. Shterny Steinmetz shared a lot of insider tips as well.
So how did two boys who grew up in Klausenberg and Tosh respectively build a multi-million dollar business that is growing by leaps and bounds?
Through a lot of siyatta dishmaya, plus a big dose of chesed and old-fashioned diligence and determination. “My husband didn’t speak English until he was nineteen, “Shterny explains “But he didn’t let that stop him from pursuing his dreams.” If there’s one thing people take out of this newsletter, I would want it to be that- you can do anything if you try hard enough.”
Eli and Moshe started out in construction supplies but there was a refrain they heard constantly- people needed high-quality flooring and they just couldn’t get it. The partners saw an opportunity- and sold out their partnerships and jumped into the flooring business. Today they have more than 40 employees, and they’re growing fast.
How does Lucida stand out? Besides a great product, they have impeccable customer service- their sales team takes their job seriously and their job is to get to know their clients as well as they possibly can. This is not a job for 9 to 5ers- salesmen are available after hours and on nights and weekends if necessary- and it sometimes is necessary. Most of their inventory is sold to distributors- but consumers can buy their products online through sites like Amazon, Lowe’s, and Wayfair.
The Lucida team loves their clients and they show it- though not necessarily when you’d expect it- the team that comes up with stellar booths at OJBA every year isn’t just up for the obligatory mishloach manos. “Our salesmen keep their ears open for special milestones in our clients’ lives- like births, birthdays and anniversaries. They never know when something really special will show up at their door!”
