L.A. Rosenzweig from impress wallpaper and Shmuel Schweid of Friedman Interiors have a lot to say about design and business. L.A. sat down with Nesanel Gantz at OJBA ‘22 to share it in a refreshingly candid interview. He leverages his hometown ( Los Angeles) and his initials ( the same) for great brand recognition.
“ It helps people remember me, “ he says.
L.A. works hand in hand with Friedman Interiors to sell and install wallpaper. “ Wallpaper is making a real comeback. It’s very hot right now!”
L.A. wasn’t always in the wallpaper business. After getting stranded in NYC one weekend when his flight to Los Angeles was delayed, he decided he liked the Big Apple, and now he lives and works here.
“I started out working at a wedding hall. I liked the job but the schedule was a killer, I never finished till 2-3 in the morning. So I started looking around for something else to do.” L.A. has a creative bent and wallpaper with its many artistic elements appealed to him.
That comeback is a real benefit to him, and also to Friedman Interiors, the company he works hand-in-hand with. Friedman Interiors has been in business for over forty years. They specialize in custom window treatments and wallcoverings of many kinds including custom printed glass and wood.
Mr. Shmuel Schweid of Friedman interiors shared his insight into the current wallpaper comeback as well. “ Fresh paint is beautiful, but designers love the endless options they have when they use wallpaper. The elegance you can create is really something special.” In addition, paint is far less durable than a strong, well-hung wall covering, another advantage for the wallpaper team.
