Global Pest Control: Over 30 Years of Protecting Buildings Through Service and Trust

For many property managers, the first sign of a pest problem is a tenant complaint. But by the time someone spots a mouse or reports cockroaches, the issue has often been developing long before anyone noticed. According to the team at Global PesControl (GPC), effective pest management isn’t simply about eliminating pests; it’s about preventing problems before they spread throughout a building.

For more than 30 years, Global Pest Control has helped multifamily property owners, management companies, commercial buildings, and homeowners protect their properties through proactive pest management. Today, the company services thousands of locations throughout New York City’s five boroughs, North Jersey, Connecticut, Rockland County, and Westchester with a team of experienced technicians supported by dedicated scheduling and customer service staff.

Vice President of Sales Shimon Levi has been part of that growth since joining the company in 2009. After working in sales for several years, he found a career built around helping property owners solve one of the more unpredictable challenges of building management; keeping residents comfortable while preventing small issues from becoming much larger ones.

One of the biggest misconceptions Levi encounters is that pest control begins when pests appear. In reality, successful prevention starts much earlier. A mouse, for example, only needs an opening about the size of a dime to enter a building. Without identifying and sealing those access points, new rodents can continue finding their way inside no matter how many are removed.

Different pests also require different strategies. While rodents often enter through structural openings, bed bugs are typically introduced by people or belongings rather than poor housekeeping. Understanding how each pest behaves allows the team to recommend solutions that address the source of the problem instead of simply treating the symptoms.

That preventative approach is why many multifamily properties rely on ongoing monthly service rather than one-time visits. Technicians routinely inspect rodent bait stations, service common areas, respond to tenant requests, and monitor buildings throughout the year. By staying ahead of potential issues, property managers can often avoid larger infestations and reduce disruptions for residents.

Every property presents its own challenges, so Global Pest Control develops service plans based on each building’s size, layout, and specific needs. Instead of applying a standard formula, the company tailors its recommendations to the property and the level of service required.

While technical expertise is essential, Levi believes customer service is what clients remember most.

“We try to treat every customer as our best customer,” he said.

That philosophy extends well beyond regular office hours. Levi recalls receiving a phone call one evening after an urgent customer request had been delayed because of a scheduling misunderstanding. Rather than waiting several days, he coordinated with his team that same night to have a technician on site the following day. For Levi, every customer deserves prompt attention, especially when a problem can’t wait.

Technology has also become an important part of the company’s service. Global Pest Control developed its own proprietary software which includes a customer portal, allowing clients to access service tickets, reports, billing information, and account history whenever they need it. The system helps property managers stay informed without searching through paperwork or making multiple phone calls.

Relationships have also played an important role in the company’s growth. Levi shared the story of unexpectedly meeting the new owners of a recently sold Bronx apartment building while visiting another client. What began as a chance conversation turned into a new customer relationship and additional business, reinforcing his belief that trust and personal connections often create opportunities that advertising alone cannot.

That same relationship-focused mindset is one of the reasons Global Pest Control continues exhibiting at OJBA. The event provides an opportunity to reconnect with existing customers, meet prospective clients, and have conversations that often lead to future business.

“I gain seeing my existing customers, I gain talking to potential new customers,” Levi said. “I’m just looking for face-time.”

Whether servicing a single residential property or thousands of multifamily units across the region, Global Pest Control continues to focus on the same goal it has for decades: helping customers stay ahead of pest problems through dependable service, practical expertise, and lasting relationships.
