Stopping Water Damage Before It Starts

A family leaves for the day. A pipe bursts. They return to find water damage throughout the house. After two decades in the water restoration industry, ArkIQ set out to prevent those disasters before they happen.
Based in Florida, ArkIQ develop smart water management systems that detect leaks, prevent frozen pipes, and cut water bills. What began as CasaIQ, a residential leak detection platform, has grown into a full water intelligence system trusted by property managers across North America.
The shift from cleanup to prevention came from experience. “Most damage happens when properties sit empty… vacation homes, buildings between tenants, or just during a regular workday,” Shimmy said. “We wanted to build something that tells you right away.”
ArkIQ’s system centers on the IQ Water Valve, which monitors flow, pressure, and temperature while letting users shut off water remotely through an app. Wireless water sensors with ten-year batteries send alerts within five seconds of detecting a leak. “You get a message on your phone telling you exactly which sensor triggered the alert,” Shimmy explained.
The real proof came at a nursing home that didn’t think they needed the system, so Shimmy installed it for free. Within weeks, data showed that 40% of toilets were continuously running — wasting nearly 200,000 gallons a month and adding $5,000 to the water bill. “Once they saw the numbers,” Shimmy said, “they didn’t want us to take it out.”
The problem, he explained, is that tenants don’t notice… or don’t care. “The landlord is paying for the water. They’ll only call you when the water is all over the floor.” ArkIQ’s toilet flow sensors catch running toilets before they cost thousands.
For vacation homes and unoccupied buildings, ArkIQ’s pipe heaters activate automatically when temperatures drop. “You’re in Lakewood or Williamsburg. How do you know what’s happening in your bungalow?” Shimmy said. The system monitors remotely and adjusts in real time.
