Built to Last

Shlome Freidman of Que Fence

When Shlome Friedman needed a fence for his own home, the experience was familiar — endless calls, few callbacks, and one usable quote. “A lot of people have the same story,” he said. “It sounds cliché, but that’s what happened.” Instead of leaving it there, he decided to change it.

QueFence manufactures and installs fencing for residential and commercial clients. What sets the company apart is that it builds its own products rather than relying on stock materials. “Every product you get is a QueFence product,” Shlome explained. “We did our research to figure out what was wrong with what’s out there… and we made it better.”

That research led to practical upgrades. Standard vinyl fences can shift or lose pickets in strong winds because the weight of the section presses on the bottom rail. QueFence uses thicker-grade vinyl, reinforces each bottom rail with an aluminum insert, and sets posts three feet deep in concrete. “We make a solid product so that we come install it once, and we’ll never have an issue,” Shlome said.

He and his partner both came from product-development backgrounds. They first planned to sell fencing wholesale … until winter delays left their first shipment sitting in the warehouse. “Within a week we came up with a brand — that’s when QueFence, the name and logo, were born,” he recalled.

That branding carried through to OJBA, where bright orange colors and gorilla mascots drew steady traffic. “When people see a gorilla, they think Gorilla Glue — strength,” said Saul from the team. “It’s memorable, and that’s the point.”

Today, QueFence has about 15 employees across manufacturing, warehouse, and installation. Most projects are completed within a day, with quick follow-up service when needed. “People want great service and a company that backs it,” Shlome said. “That’s what we do.”

This was QueFence’s second year at OJBA. The team reconnected with past clients and met new ones. “Everyone in the industry is here,” Shlome said. “And once they see the product, they understand what makes it different.”
