Property Management Software Built for Growing Portfolios

Daniel Schwartz of Remote Landlord

Managing rental properties means tracking leases, maintenance requests, rent payments, and accounting. When those pieces live in different places — spreadsheets, emails, accounting software, and paper files — coordination takes more time than the work itself.

Remote Landlord was built to eliminate that fragmentation altogether. The Brooklyn-based company developed a platform that brings lease management, maintenance tracking, rent collection, and accounting into one system that property managers can access from anywhere.

“It’s a very easy-to-use property management system, whether you have 100 units or a couple thousand,” said Daniel Schwartz, who represented the company at OJBA.

The system supports both residential and commercial properties… scaling from smaller portfolios to larger operations without requiring teams to change how they work. Lease records, service requests, tenant payments, and financial data all live in one place, giving property managers visibility into daily operations without pulling information from multiple sources.

A core part of the platform is its fully integrated accounting. Bank reconciliation, cash receipts, expense tracking, and payment processing are handled within the same system, allowing managers and accountants to see where things stand without relying on separate tools. Documents such as lease renewals, invoices, and bank statements can also be stored directly in the platform.

For property managers operating in markets like New York, the system includes tools designed to track court dates, late payments, and related documentation… an important consideration in regions with added regulatory complexity.

Remote Landlord also supports on-site work. A mobile component allows managers to document property conditions and create inspection checklists in real time. Tenants have access to a portal where they can view balances, review bills, and make payments online, reducing routine administrative back-and-forth.

Remote Landlord has exhibited at OJBA for several years. Often, the value comes after the show. “We meet new people at the show, and then after the event, we follow up with many of them,” Daniel said.
