Sealing the Details That Keep Buildings Tight
Zevy Goldring of Caulk It USA
Small gaps are easy to overlook in construction — until water finds its way through them.
A window frame meets the wall. A countertop meets the backsplash. A bathtub meets the tile. Each of those joints need to be sealed properly to keep moisture out and protect the materials behind them.
Caulk It USA focuses entirely on that part of the job.
“We are caulking and silicone professionals,” said Zevy Goldring, who spent years in residential and multifamily construction, before launching Caulk It USA in 2024.
The company works on both residential and commercial projects throughout New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, applying silicone and caulking wherever two building materials meet — from kitchens and bathrooms to windows, floors, and exterior building joints.
“Anywhere you have two joints, we seal it,” said Zishe Kompel.
While many installers handle sealing themselves, contractors increasingly bring in Caulk It as a dedicated crew. When window installers or brick layers finish an installation and need to move on, a specialized caulking team can stay behind and complete the joints while those crews are already on their next job.
Goldring has run the numbers with several companies. Bringing in a dedicated caulking crew costs about the same as having installers handle it themselves… while freeing those installers to generate income elsewhere.
Some contractors are still warming to the idea. When clients mention calling a handyman instead, Goldring’s response is simple: “Indeed, call the handyman. He’ll call us after.”
Part of the company’s work is helping clients understand the difference between general sealing work and specialized caulking.
“In addition to building a company and a business, we’re sort of building the industry as well,” Goldring said.
The company works on both residential and commercial projects across the region, including commercial window installations and finishing joints in newly built homes once structures have had time to settle.
Caulk It currently runs three two-person crews across the tri-state area.
Watch Zishe Kompel discuss typical scenarios, where caulking and silicone applications are needed.
