Hiring skilled technical staff has become one of the bigger challenges for growing construction and engineering companies. Roles like engineers, designers, and drafters are essential to moving projects forward — but finding the right people can take time.

F5 Hiring Solutions helps companies solve that problem.

The company connects employers with full-time, long-term employees based in India for technical roles such as MEP engineers, structural engineers, designers, drafters, and software developers.

“We provide full-time long-term employees from India,” said Joel Deutsch of F5 Hiring Solutions. “More in the higher end — not just virtual assistants.”

Rather than simply matching resumes to job descriptions, the company screens and evaluates candidates before presenting them to clients. Engineers, designers, and drafters are tested on both technical ability and communication before they ever reach the interview stage.

As a result, companies spend far less time interviewing candidates who may not be the right fit.

“By the time it comes to an interview, most likely you’ll come out of it excited rather than just okay,” Deutsch said. Their interview-to-hire ratio runs around 80 percent.

F5 has been placing technical staff from India for nine years — well before offshore hiring became a common topic in the industry. India’s talent pool for engineering and technical roles is significantly larger than in many nearshore markets, though communication can sometimes be a hurdle. Deutsch said evaluating communication is one of the first steps the company takes with every candidate.

Once a candidate is hired, F5 Hiring Solutions stays involved, supporting both the employer and employee as the working relationship develops.

“We don’t just match you and go away. We’re fully involved,” Deutsch said.

This year marked the company’s first time exhibiting at OJBA after previously attending as visitors. Deutsch said the show draws a broader mix of people than many industry events — contractors, developers, and businesses across different sectors — making it a strong environment for introducing the company to new contacts.

“A lot of different people show up here. It’s a large network of different people,” he said.
