Environmental Remediation Backed by 30 Years of Experience

Mendy Gorodetsky Of Asbestways Solutions

Construction often uncovers problems that can bring work to a standstill. Old insulation may contain asbestos. Lead paint might appear during renovations. Mold can be found behind walls. These issues don’t just slow projects down…they raise costs, delay schedules and create real risks if not handled properly.

For more than 30 years, Asbestways Solutions has been helping contractors, developers, and property owners resolve them safely so work can move forward.

Based in Brooklyn, Asbestways serves New York City and the surrounding region. The company began with asbestos removal, then expanded into lead paint and mold remediation, and today covers the full spectrum of environmental hazards. Their team of more than 100 manages the entire process—from Phase I property assessments when site is purchased, to Phase II testing, and Phase III remediation.

As founder Mendy Gorodetsky explained at the OJBA show, awareness of these requirements often depends on the client. “Many homeowners only realize there’s an issue when a mold inspector refuses to start the job because asbestos is present,” he said. “Developers and landlords, by contrast, know inspections are required before permits are issued.” In New York City, for example, no building permit can be granted without asbestos inspection

Experience, Mendy stressed, is what makes the  difference. “If remediation isn’t done right, the repercussions can be serious. That’s why we’ve built our reputation on consistency, high-level insurance coverage, and decades of proven results.”

That insurance — action-over/labor law coverage — is one example. while many competitors avoid the expense, Asbestways carries it, giving contractors added protection so projects move ahead safely and without delays. Over the years, some companies have turned to them across three generations… a reflection of the long-term relationships they’ve built.

Looking back, Mendy noted that the company has gone from being the young newcomer to the experienced partner contractors now count on. And that experience extends to OJBA as well: “We do 10 to 15 shows a year, and OJBA is right at the top. It has the right mix of our client base. People here are serious— they’re buyers, and they’re ready to do business.”

Watch Mendy share how Asbestways resolves environmental hazards so projects stay compliant and on track.
