Knowing What’s Happening in Your Fleet
Dovi Wolter of Blitz Auto Solutions
For companies running multiple vehicles, most of the work happens out of sight.
Drivers move between jobs, vehicles sit parked overnight, and problems don’t always surface until later. Without visibility into day-to-day activity, it becomes harder to know what’s actually going on — and to catch them before they turn into lost time or misuse.
Blitz Auto Solutions works with businesses to outfit those vehicles as functional tools. Based in New York, the company builds and customizes work trucks and vans — adding storage systems, shelving, and equipment that contractors and fleet operators rely on every day. Over more than a decade, Blitz has completed thousands of projects across commercial fleets.
At OJBA this year, Dovi Wolter of Blitz focused on fleet technology — specifically, a live-access camera system designed to give owners direct visibility into what’s happening on the road.
The system goes beyond standard dashcams.
“You can log in anytime, you can talk to the driver while you’re in the vehicle,” said Dovi Wolter. “You can wake up the camera at night, review the footage — it has features that aren’t available in the average market.”
Cameras go into sleep mode when a vehicle is off to protect the battery, but can be reactivated remotely — giving access even when the vehicle is off. That means issues can be addressed as they happen — not after the fact.
Blitz’s work includes contractor fleets, emergency vehicles, and heavy-duty equipment installations, including clients such as Hatzalah and other local operators.
One of his strongest outcomes came from a conversation that didn’t seem promising at the time — a contact who initially dismissed the product, called back two months later with a real problem…. and went on to become his largest client from all OJBA shows.
After years of exhibiting, his approach has shifted. Instead of trying to reach everyone, the focus is on identifying a small number of the right conversations.
“To have a successful show, find that five people that you’re looking for and lock into that,” Wolter said.
