The Contractor’s Buddy for Finishing the Job Right

Reuven Stekel of COBO

Every contractor knows the moment: a project is nearly complete, but 10 to 15 percent of the work is still hanging. A framing fix from a change order, a sheetrock patch, hardware waiting to be installed, or a temporary door to secure the site. They’re small tasks on paper — but left undone, they can hold up the entire schedule.

Handling that last 10 percent is what COBO is built for.

Based in Upstate NY, COBO focuses on the details that often fall between subcontractors. As Reuven explained at the OJBA show, “We do all the stuff other subs don’t do. Should be a change order, fixing framing, sheetrock, accessories, or a temporary door… we come in and we do it all.”

Their work extends well beyond that list. The team installs mirrors, railings, fixtures, and shelving. They put up temporary protections, clear debris, and add safety barriers when needed. In short, they take care of the overlooked jobs that make the difference between a project that’s technically finished and one that’s ready to hand over.

It’s work that doesn’t replace contractors, but supports them. COBO calls itself the “Contractor’s Buddy” because that’s the role they play — a crew contractors can call when the last details need attention. For builders, that means less stress, faster turnover, and confidence that the final details won’t delay completion.

That support is what brought COBO to OJBA. “We heard OJBA brings good results, and it’s for contractors… so we came to promote our company,” Reuven said. Within just the first hours of the show, the team had already made new contacts and found strong interest from builders who know the value of dependable backup.

Walking the floor, Reuven’s message was clear: COBO is here to take care of the details that keep projects moving, so contractors can stay focused on the bigger work at hand.
