 We Don’t Sell Panels

Elie Markin of Panneli Interiors

By the end of an interior project, the smallest details usually stand out the most.

A lighting detail doesn’t line up properly. Different materials meet awkwardly. A transition gets improvised after installation because multiple trades handled different parts of the work separately.

Those are the kinds of issues Pannelli Interiors is built around.

“We don’t sell panels,” said founder Elie Markin. “We design, we manufacture, we install luxury spaces.”

The company designs and installs custom wall systems for residential and commercial interiors — handling everything from renderings and fabrication to lighting integration and final installation.

Projects often begin with an interior designer bringing inspiration and direction for the space. From there, Pannelli develops renderings, elevations, technical drawings, material coordination, and installation plans before fabrication begins. The goal is to make sure the finished space reflects what was planned before installation begins.

Custom LED light channels are built to match surrounding finishes. Upholstered wall systems are produced with fire-rated materials suitable for healthcare and education environments.

Large-format porcelain slab systems — part of the company’s newer Panneli Stone collection — are integrated directly into installations alongside trim details and lighting elements. Instead of leaving those elements for separate trades to coordinate afterward, Panneli handles them as part of the overall system.

At the booth this year, one of the porcelain slab displays drew immediate reactions from visitors. Up close, individual sections looked abstract on their own. From a distance, the full pattern came together as a larger continuous design.

“We create ambiance,” Markin said.

“When we leave the project, it’s done,” he added.

That full-scope approach helps eliminate many of the issues that tend to appear toward the end of projects — exposed gaps, mismatched finishes, unfinished transitions, or last-minute fixes after installation.

“You don’t have to go to Home Depot or Google, ‘How do I fix that?’” Markin said. “We take care of everything from A to Z.”

Recent projects have included multifamily developments, office spaces, behavioral health facilities, and custom residential interiors — work that now extends well beyond decorative wall applications alone.

Panneli has continued expanding its presence through OJBA, including both the New York and Baltimore shows. According to Markin, the company is still working on multiple projects that first started through conversations at earlier expos.

“This trade show has just been amazing for us,” he said.

For Markin, the larger goal remains the same: creating interiors where the walls become part of the experience of the space rather than simply fading into the background around it.
