When Walls Stop Blending In

Elie Markin of Panneli Interiors

Most walls get treated the same way… primed, painted, and pushed to the background.

But what if the wall could be the design?

That question led to the creation of Panneli Interiors… a design-focused wall panel system that brings depth, texture, and warmth to both commercial and residential spaces.

Unlike standard finishes or one-size-fits-all materials, Panneli’s wall panels are custom-manufactured… with every design, finish, and trim coordinated from the start. That means fewer surprises during installation and a finished space that looks exactly as planned.

Each project includes more than just panels. Panneli provides full trim packages — often custom-fit on site — and their panels can be used for seamless hidden doors that disappear into the wall.

Clients can choose from 13 panel profiles — square, concave, and more — suited to modern, contemporary, or classic interiors. With finish options in wood, leather, marble, metallic, and fabric, designers have creative freedom. The panels are factory-finished for long-term durability. They’re engineered to maintain their beauty for decades.

Panneli is led by a husband-and-wife team who bring both manufacturing expertise and design vision to every project. Founder Elie Markin, who comes from a manufacturing background, was inspired by the luxury interiors he saw while traveling abroad… spaces where the wall wasn’t just a surface, but a statement. This experience shaped Panneli’s approach to bringing that same level of thought and craft to everyday spaces.

At the OJBA NY Expo, Elie shared how Panneli’s system has been used across residential, commercial, and healthcare spaces — and how walking the NY show last year helped him see the value of this community.

“This is where the action is,” he said. “I signed up, exhibited in Baltimore… and months later, I’m still working on multiple projects that started at that show.”

His tip for first-time exhibitors? Bring twice the business cards. And don’t worry about having the biggest booth.

“It’s not about the flashiest setup — it’s about showing up and having real conversations.”
