Spray Foam Solutions That Save Energy

David Winner of Winner Insulation

Based in the Metro DC area, Winner Insulation helps homes and buildings stay energy-efficient and up to code… using modern insulation systems built for today’s building standards.

At the OJBA Mid-Atlantic Expo, founder David Winner — a U.S. Air Force veteran — introduced attendees to the science behind spray foam and the mission behind his business.

“I served in the Air Force,” he said. “Now I’m doing a different kind of work, but still helping people. Making them more comfortable… and saving them on their utility bills.”

Winner Insulation specializes in spray foam systems that meet today’s energy standards— and backs it up with the practical support contractors need on the job.

If your energy bills are creeping up… or certain rooms just don’t stay comfortable…your insulation might be the reason.

That’s where spray foam can make a difference. Unlike traditional fiberglass, spray foam acts as an air barrier, sealing off drafts and helping buildings stay warmer in winter and cooler in summer. It can be up to 50% more efficient, which means real savings over time.

The company offers both closed-cell and open-cell spray foam systems. Closed-cell spray foam is denser and moisture-resistant, making it ideal for areas like concrete walls, below-grade spaces, and metal roofing. Open-cell spray foam, on the other hand, is lighter and more flexible, typically used in attics and wall cavities. For projects where spray foam isn’t the best fit, Winner Insulation still provides traditional options, including fiberglass.

“Controlling air is where building codes want to be today,” David explained. “It keeps the heat in during winter, keeps it out in summer… and keeps your space more comfortable year-round.”

The Winner team is already serving many customers in the Mid-Atlantic region… and meeting new ones at the expo.

“It’s been a game-changer,” David said. “We’ve had people we’ve only spoken to over the phone come up to us here… and we’re grateful for that connection.”

Their work supports contractors across the Mid-Atlantic — helping homes and buildings stay efficient and up to code.
